Braxton Dunaway Wins MONSTER STACK for $1.16 Million
The Texas PLO Roundup $3,300 Main Event kicked off from Champions Club in Houston, Texas, on Thursday, featuring a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
A strong start to the series as the first starting flight drew 62 entrants, with David Shaw leading eight survivors after putting 700,000 chips in the bag. Shaw built his stack late in the day through numerous battles with tablemate Zhargal Tsydypov, who bagged 624,000, good for third in chips. Right behind Shaw is Finland's Antti Marttinen with 632,000.
A few big names who took their shot to make Day 2, but ultimately fell short, included Alex Livingston, Bruno Furth, Billy Tarango, Jim Collopy, David Mzareulov, Andrew Ige, LaDarren Banks, and John Wasnock. However, they'll have plenty of chances to get through, as five starting flights still remain.
The unfortunate bubble boy was defending Texas PLO Roundup Main Event champion, Lawrence Chang, when his straight and flush draws couldn't improve against Abraham Obeid's turned straight.
All Day 1 survivors will combine for Day 2 on Sunday, November 23rd, at 3 p.m. CT. and be in the money. Prize pool and payout info will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
At the season's end, the top 40 eligible players on the PGT leaderboard will qualify for the PGT Championship. The 2025 PGT $1,000,000 Championship will be a $1,000,000 freeroll with a $500,000 first-place prize. Along with the top 40 eligible players, limited PGT Championship "Dream Seat” winners will be awarded through special events and promotions. Information on the Dream Seat promotions can be found here.
